i don't have much else to contribute, other than that I'm shell shocked and horrified that we're back in the space. Back in the pit of hopelessness and mediocrity. My liver can't take it.

Jason David sucks. Now that I have that out of the way, I can mention some of the other players who sucked this week -
Kaesviharn - Some people have watches set a few minutes ahead so they are never late. His watch is always a few minutes behind because he's always late.
Randall Gay - Roddy White was threatening to go all Flipper Anderson on us. and nice job getting the shit blocked out of you.
The D-Line - Nice job (sort of) on controlling Turner but not Jerious Nerwood's sixty something yard scamper. Sure he's fast, but Jesus. Pick an angle. Wrap up. And you have two jobs - stop the run (check!) and pressure the passer. If you can pressure the passer, maybe the DBs don't suck as much. I mean, shit, Roseanne could get open with the amount of time he would have running around until someone finally got close enough to the opposing quarterback to make him nervous. I think she's dead.

The defense is THE issue with this team. Drew Brees made a few boneheaded throws this week. That will happen. But he also came back out and kept slinging it. I would have liked to see more running, but the Saints were down from the start. And to have any chance in the second half he had to throw, throw, throw.

Ok. Off the soapbox. The Saints have to get it together to have any chance, and they have to make quite a run and get a lot of help to make it to the playoffs. I don't see it happening.

Payton's contract extension pretty much assures he'll be with us for at least two more seasons. I'm fine with that, I guess. I'm ready to see Gibbs canned. Then we'll see if Payton is worth keeping around.

Where is the no-nonsense, holding players accountable and have them fearing coming to the sidelines, after a screw up, that Payton instilled in season one?

Where's the Coach O fire we expected from our d-line?

Where was a sense of urgency Sunday? Very unemotional team. I'm used to teams that just suck, but teams that don't play hard (and we didn't), well, :mad2: :shakehd: :mad2: :shakehd: :mad2:

That one sentence was meant to begin with "Now" not "No." I haven't listened to Bobby Hebert in a long time, I promise.

Gotta disagree on "vastly overrated" at relates to Matt Ryan. You can have the stats. But watching dude this year, he's made some outstanding throws. The very first of the year comes to mind. Not that the Saints would know anything about this, but even under pressure he'll stand in and make the throw. There's something to be said of that for a rookie. He's ahead of the curve as far as accuracy and arm strength go. No, obviously the Falcons are all rolled up in "yes we can, 2006 Saints"-type emotion, beating teams better than they. And I'm not saying that's because of Ryan. But he's a legitimate Rookie of the Year.
