>>bracket sup bracket TM TPS bracket slash sup bracket That’s bitchslapping anybody and everybody who’s fool enough to try to knock the Duracell off of Robert Conrad’s shoulder.

I hate that I have to wait for the next game after reading that.

The key to any team's "The Year" is when you get the breaks. Year in and year out the Saints are on the wrong end of the breaks. I think we could have fielded an entire team with the number of people we put on IR last year. Most every other year has had more of the same. 2007 had Drew Brees look like absolute crap for the first four games of the season. 2006 was pretty magical and we caught some good breaks there, like Drew Brees being turned away from every other job in the NFL. 2005 we got fucked by some weather.

Any rate, this year we're getting the breaks. We get the Lions to start the season, McRibb out for the second game, no suspesions, and now Pennington is out for the year. In previous Saints years, Henne would turn out to be Joe Montana or Steve Young or even a mere Tom Brady, but not this year. I'm pretty sure in the next few games the Dolphins are going to find out he sucks and will face us exclusively in the Wildcat formation with a few fake punts sprinkled in there for good measure. [Message Board Guy= :mad2: "You can't look past the Jets or the bye week or the Giants. You'll make us lose focus and get beat. :mad2::mad2:"][ed. note: blow it out your ass message board guy. I'm already looking at the Patriots game at 10-1 or, heaven forbid, 9-2]

Congrats, Wang. You've got me pretty much completely bought in. Not that I would have needed much more prodding after what we've all seen the first few weeks of the season.

I think that little seed of doubt is always going to exist in the back of any rational fans' mind, but I've, for all intents and purposes, told it to go fuck off for the foreseeable future. Like I told another fan I was talking to the other day after the win, "I think this 2009 version of the New Orleans Saints would probably tell you that you should take all your ritualistic cynicism that you cultivated over the years and shove it up your ass." Crude, perhaps, but it's about damn time we started kicking ass rather than constantly searching for the "kick me" sign that someone stuck on our backs.

I'm pumped.

I'm still in shock that Brees ran. I'm all fired up too, but I'm not planning my SuperBowl party just yet.

Although, I have been planning my next tattoo all week long. (Saintseester, I'll go shopping with you!!)

I heard that Grant sack on the radio, and just assumed I misheard it.

I don't really know how I feel about you and all this sweet talk of yours about it being "the year." Guys pull that crap with me all the time. (although, it might help if you take me shopping for tat designs...)
