I was all over this one yesterday afternoon. The status tracker (link right below my man Dom up top) got updated within minutes. GW says he might pull it down though if it turns out that Kenny is suffering any kind of real life hardship. Kharma, man. Kharma. Personally, I think Wang is full of shit. But it’s his call.

A league source tells us that if the Saints are able to successfully trade up for Glenn Dorsey, Dorsey is considering sitting out the season and re-entering the draft next year.

Wooooooooo! I’m wasted, bitches!

DORSEY!
DORSEY!

Glenn Gilbeau is a typical LSU fan. Dorsey’s worth maybe a third round pick. Hester will be washing dishes at the Shoney’s in Nachitdoches. Oh, and…
I feel so superior, now…

Jake Long first overall? Shocker! Who knew?

The great thing about Justin Keller is that h has naturally pouty lips and doesn’t need a tan.

My God. Even I cannot believe sometimes what a hack I am. Wow. Why did I even bother to write that?

Are we having fun, yet? Why does everyone thing Dorsey is all that? I think he’s going to be injured the first year. Mediocre at best. ha ha - but what do I know. I don’t have the good sense not to drink at 9am.

Apparently not, seester. These kinds of threads seem to be a lot more popular at other blogs. I’m not sure why it’s only caught on to such a slight degree here. But we will soldier on. If we do them during the preseason again, maybe there will be more participation. Or maybe not. I’ve gotten a few chuckles out of it though.
As far as Dorsey goes, I’m already on record as being of the opinion that Ellis had the edge over Dorsey for this team, as far as I’m concerned. Simply because whether or not Dorsey’s injury issues were overblown, I’d prefer to not have to constantly worry that they weren’t. I’d rather some team I don’t give a crap about have to deal with that. But as the draft got closer, and Dorsey started seeming like a realistic possibility, it was hard for an LSU
such as myself not to buy into the excitement. So I was pretty stoked that it might be Dorsey. I couldn’t help it.
But now that it’s done and the
part of it is once again irrelevant, ultimately I think it’s pretty clear that they did the right thing. We absolutely, positively needed to come out of round 1 with one of ‘em, in my opinion. I think they got the “safer” of the two, and at a FAR, FAR more palatable price. What’s not to love? He’s gonna be absolutely HUGE for us, right from day one.
I’ve never seen Porter play, but I like what I read about him. He’s fast, he can stick to a WR in man coverage, and he’s got the hands to pull in the INTs. Again, what’s not to love? So what if he’s supposedly “soft?” He’s a corner, not a lineman. Sure, it’s nice for any player to be able to lay the wood, regardless of position. But for a corner, it’s way down on my list of priorities. Blanket your wideout, don’t get burned, play the ball, when you get a shot at an INT CATCH IT, and when the wideout makes the catch, bring him down. Sure, ring his bell if you can, but bringing him down is the important part. Porter apparently does all those things.
An absolute stud DT, and according to some, possibly the best straight up man cover corner in the draft. A guy who will be in the mix for return duties too. That can be considered nothing less than outstanding, in my opinion.

Pound-for-pound….rather, Round-for-Round…nearly as good as the ‘06 draft. We addressed needs without once reaching and in some cases made some steals. Our first two picks should be long term starters. The Wisky kicker should beat out Automatica, too. The rest have a decent chance to make the roster. I loved how Mickey made all those second day trades to grab guys who fell from where they were projected to go to keep value picks from falling into other teams’ laps. Loomis is sweating the details and I love it
